I've been taking a break from beading lately and focusing on my photography. I got some mattes and cello sleeves and have starting fixing up the prints I've already done. I want to try selling at craft fairs. Going to have to get my sales tax number. Yay...

I'm also trying to post a new photo everyday on my Facebook account. www.facebook.com/CillanasArtBy… I'll post those photos here also. Not sure if I'll do it everyday, or maybe a batch at the end of the week. I also have a Flickr account now. I just signed up for it so I could post some photos on my eBird account for identification proof on some questionable sightings. Not sure if I'm going to use it regularly like I do dA.

Anyway, I'm going to be looking at the likes and favorites I get on these new photos and use this to determine if I should test print them and add them to my Etsy store. www.etsy.com/shop/CillanasArtB… Of course if someone declares their need for a print of one of my photos, I'll get right on it.

I've be unemployed in a little over a year now. I've been having problems with my health and had to resign from my job. Not sure when I'll be returning to work, but I've been trying to make some money on Etsy in the interim. My parents are helping with things like food, shelter, and medical bills, but I'm having to use my own savings to pay for other things. My main source of money loss lately has been my eldest rabbit, Q-Tip. As of this month I've had him 11 years. Not exactly sure how old he was when I adopted him but probably around 6 - 8 months. He started acting funny and not eating much. After a battery of tests I've learned he has E. cuniculi (causing him vertigo and starting to give him cataracts) and a cancerous tumor on his side (slow growing). He also had some sort of infection (high white cell count) which improved with antibiotics. Oh and he has arthritis and chronic runny eye and allergies, but I already knew about those. He's eating and walking much better with the medicines he's on now. The medicines aren't very expensive, but I spent a lot on all the tests. Treating him for E. cuniculi or the cancer would be super expensive and also dangerous because of his age. I've decided not to go down those paths and just make him comfortable for as long as he has left. And if it gets to be too much for him, let him go in peace.

Edit August 17, 2012: Q-Tip passed away peacefully and much loved at my vets office on August 14.

A Belated Happy Halloween to all. No festivities for me, haven't been feeling well. Thanks to all who have been adding my photo of the bunny Jack O. Lantern to your favorites. I recently went to my 10 year high school reunion and was able to talk to one of my classmates who owns a gift shop in my hometown. She said she would love to sell my jewelry in her store. I'm going to run all my stuff through Etsy first since they take a smaller percent than she does and of course since I'm Beads for Bunnies, I'll hang on to the bunny stuff. I have several items that will be expiring on Etsy in just a few days and at the end of November. I've put them on 10% off on Etsy. Link to each Etsy listing can be found in the artist's comments. I'd like to wish all my watchers a Merry Christmas and all those other holidays I've missed since last time I posted a journal on dA. I haven't been around dA much this year. I've been ill most of the time due to vertigo episodes. I had surgery on my left ear in October after many delays because of low potassium. The surgery has made a big difference but I still have a ways to go with therapy, medications, and habit changes. This year I had to put aside my more physically demanding hobbies (canoeing, birding, wildlife photography). I focused most of my free time (when I was feeling well) on making jewelry and helping out at Magic Happens Rabbit Rescue.
