Ice Flower

I went out into my yard the morning of January 8, 2010 after our first hard freeze of the season. It was still about 29 degrees outside. I noticed these weird white "growths" on my dead salvia plant (half dead from the earlier light freeze, total goner now). I got closer and realized that as the water in the hard stems had started to freeze and expanded, it caused the stems to crack and the water burst forth and created puffy ice crystals.

I thought this one looked amazingly like a tiny white flower. I tried to adjust the lighting to bring out the detail in the ice. Do you think it's too dark?
